A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly robbing a meat market while completely naked except for a face covering, authorities said.
Police identified the suspect as 24-year-old Kobe Watkins, who is accused of stealing approximately $1,000 from BJ’s Meat Market in Lake City last Tuesday. According to the Lake City Police Department, surveillance video shows Watkins entering the store unclothed, aside from a mask covering his face, and taking cash from a box before fleeing the scene.
Although Watkins was not wearing any clothing, employees told police they believed he may have been armed. They reported seeing what appeared to be a weapon concealed under a cloth.
Officers quickly responded to the scene, established a perimeter, and discovered clothing and other items believed to be connected to the robbery along the suspect’s alleged escape route. Watkins was located shortly afterward and taken into custody.

No injuries were reported during the incident. Police said Watkins was transported to a hospital for a medical evaluation before being booked into the Columbia County Jail.
He faces multiple charges, including armed robbery, exposure of sexual organs, grand theft, and criminal mischief.

“Incidents like this are unsettling, but our officers responded quickly, secured the scene, and worked with our partners to identify and arrest the suspect,” Lake City Police Chief Gerald Butler said in a statement.
He also thanked the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and the store’s employees for their assistance in bringing the situation to a safe conclusion.
