A Florida man has filed a lawsuit against Outback Steakhouse, claiming he was seriously injured when a toilet collapsed while he was using it at one of the chain’s locations.
According to court filings, Michael Green alleges the incident occurred at an Outback Steakhouse on Southwest College Road in Ocala, Florida. Green says he was using a handicap-accessible restroom stall when the toilet seat suddenly shattered and gave way beneath him.
The lawsuit claims Green suffered severe and lasting injuries as a result of the incident, including permanent loss of bodily function and a diminished ability to enjoy daily life. He alleges the restaurant failed to properly secure the toilet to the floor, creating a dangerous condition for customers.

Green is accusing the restaurant of negligence and is seeking $50,000 in damages.
The lawsuit comes as Outback Steakhouse faces broader business challenges. In early November, the company closed 21 underperforming locations as part of what it described as a comprehensive turnaround effort.
This is not the first time a restroom-related incident has resulted in legal action in Florida. In a separate case, a customer sued Dunkin’ after alleging a toilet exploded at one of its locations, exposing him to waste and causing psychological trauma. In another high-profile incident in 2017, entertainer Clay Aiken faced a lawsuit after a clogged toilet in his residence allegedly caused damage to a neighboring unit.
