Hunter Biden now says he has “no idea” how he’s supposed to pay off roughly $15 million in debt, portraying himself as financially ruined and out of options.

This is the same Hunter Biden who spent years traveling the world, partying, abusing drugs, and living an extravagant lifestyle—while pulling in huge sums from foreign businesses tied to his famous last name. Now, he wants sympathy.

Earlier this year, Hunter’s attorney admitted in a letter to lawyer John Paul Mac Isaac (Ziegler’s attorney) that his client “lacks the resources to continue this litigation at this time.” The letter claimed his financial situation worsened after fires in the Pacific Palisades in early January left his rental home unlivable for an extended period.

According to court filings, Hunter insists he is effectively broke and buried under debt, despite a long record of lucrative business dealings and lavish spending that critics say were directly tied to his father, Joe Biden—referred to in Hunter’s own messages as “the Big Guy.”

This is the same man who:

  • Made millions from Ukrainian energy company Burisma

  • Received money from Chinese-linked business ventures

  • Spent heavily on luxury hotels, escorts, drugs, and high-end living

  • Bragged in texts and emails about using “the Big Guy” to advance business deals

In an interview on The Shawn Ryan Show, the former first son painted a grim picture of his finances, claiming his income has collapsed and his debt has skyrocketed due to years of civil and criminal litigation. In a March 2025 court filing, he cited lawsuits connected to the publication of his infamous laptop as a major financial drain.

Hunter said his once-lucrative art sales—nearly $1.5 million after the 2020 election—have dried up, bringing in only $36,000 since December 2023. Sales of his memoir have also fallen sharply, from 3,200 copies sold in mid-2023 to just 1,100 afterward.

“Nobody’s riding to the rescue for Hunter Biden,” he said, dismissing claims that the Biden family is sitting on hidden wealth.

“Litigation sucks,” Hunter added. “I’ve been tied up in criminal and civil courts. I’ve got—I don’t know—$14 or $15 million in debt that I have no idea how I’m going to pay off. I have millions of dollars in debt. Nobody’s riding to the rescue for Hunter Biden.”

He also claimed his father entered the presidency as “the poorest man to ever take the office” and rejected allegations of generational wealth, saying, “There’s no billions of dollars buried underneath my dad’s house in Delaware.”
