Candace Owens Doubles Down After Meeting with Erika Kirk

Candace Owens, a former Turning Point USA figure, BLEXIT Foundation co-founder, and podcast host, discussed her recent meeting with Turning Point USA CEO Erika Kirk—the widow of the organization’s co-founder Charlie Kirk—during Tuesday’s episode of The Candace Podcast.

Owens opened the episode by greeting viewers with “Shabbat Shalom” and “Happy Hanukkah,” followed by what appeared to be intentional trolling, stating, “Tucker Carlson is Adolf Hitler, and TikTok does need to be purchased by the Mossad.”

She then addressed the backlash she received after posting on X that she was safe and that the meeting had been productive.

“You guys are absolutely crazy,” Owens said. “The amount of people who attacked me for sending out a tweet saying, ‘Hey, I’m good, I’m alive, we had a very productive conversation,’ and suddenly it’s, ‘She got the call. She’s betrayed us. This was all a show.’ Calm down.”

Owens mocked suggestions that she had been pressured into silence, joking that people seemed to believe she had been “frozen for four and a half hours” and force-fed talking points.

For more than 30 minutes, Owens discussed the private meeting she had with Erika Kirk and reiterated her skepticism about the official account of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. The meeting, which took place Monday, replaced a planned public debate that never occurred after Owens declined to participate.

Following the meeting, Owens wrote on X that it was “an extremely productive 4 1/2 hour meeting that I think we both feel should have taken place a lot earlier than it did.”

The sit-down came after weeks of public tension between Owens and Kirk. Erika Kirk appeared on Fox News last week, accusing Owens of profiting from speculation about her husband’s death and claiming Owens was “making hundreds of thousands of dollars every single episode going after the people that I love.”

Owens responded by calling the Fox interview a “performance,” saying it “unmasked Erika and the entire TPUSA machine in one interview.”

On Saturday, Erika Kirk participated in a CBS News town hall with editor-in-chief Bari Weiss, where she expressed concern that public speculation about the assassination—particularly references to alleged Egyptian aircraft—could contaminate the jury pool and jeopardize the case against the accused shooter, Tyler Robinson.

Owens pushed back, saying Erika was “dodging the question by confronting a claim that we never made,” adding, “Literally no one accused Erika or Charlie of flying on Egyptian planes.”

However, Owens doubled down on the issue during her podcast, stating, “I am certain that these Egyptian planes are incredibly shady,” and alleging they were monitoring Turning Point USA Faith events. She said she plans to present evidence that the aircraft routinely fly in and out of Israel while disabling their transponders.

Owens has previously suggested that a wide range of entities—including foreign governments, wealthy donors, the U.S. government, and leadership within Turning Point USA—could be connected either to Charlie Kirk’s assassination or to a subsequent cover-up.

Discussing her meeting with Erika Kirk, Owens said she entered without clear expectations. She acknowledged that Kirk was especially upset by a tweet Owens posted describing Turning Point USA as a “God-forsaken company” and urging people not to donate to it.

“I have to own that—that’s aggressive,” Owens said. “I was frustrated. I felt like we weren’t getting answers, and I was being attacked for asking questions that were within their capacity to answer.”

Owens said Erika acknowledged what she described as “lies” or, as the organization framed them, “miscommunications” coming from various people within Turning Point USA.

The two also addressed disputed text messages allegedly sent by Charlie Kirk the night before his death, in which he reportedly expressed fear he would be killed. Erika Kirk had previously denied those claims, stating publicly that she had Charlie’s phone and that no such messages existed.

Despite the lengthy discussion, Owens said she remained dissatisfied with some of the explanations she received.

“I did not at all recant any of my suspicions,” she said. “I understand people disagree with me about particular people at Turning Point USA.”

Owens cited several unresolved concerns, including the removal of SD cards from security cameras following the shooting, statements from Turning Point leadership, the presence of Pastor Rob McCoy and his son at the scene, disputed forensic details, the narrative surrounding Tyler Robinson as the shooter, and claims that Charlie Kirk had rejected a major financial offer tied to Israel.
