President Trump reacted strongly to Marjorie Taylor Greene’s recent 60 Minutes interview, unleashing a series of insults against the outgoing congresswoman in a Truth Social post on Monday, according to Fox News. Greene, meanwhile, had a brief response.
“The only reason Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!) went BAD is that she was JILTED by the President of the United States (Certainly not the first time she has been jilted!),” Trump wrote, misspelling her name. He also referenced the “traitor” nickname, which Greene said in the interview has led to death threats against her.
In the interview, Greene described herself as “America First,” distancing herself from the MAGA label. Trump, however, rejected both descriptions. “She sort of reminds me of a Rotten Apple! Marjorie is not AMERICA FIRST or MAGA, because nobody could have changed her views so fast, and her new views are those of a very dumb person,” he wrote, later adding that Greene is a “low IQ traitor.”
Trump also criticized CBS and its parent company, Paramount, for airing the interview, demanding a “complete and total APOLOGY.” He referenced Paramount’s $16 million settlement with him over a Kamala Harris interview and accused interviewer Lesley Stahl of previously libeling him regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Greene responded on Monday, tweeting, “I AM AMERICA FIRST,” and echoed one of Trump’s signature phrases: “Thank you for your attention to this matter.”
