President Joe Biden was seen at a Virginia restaurant Monday evening appearing frail as he greeted patrons at Carbonara, an Italian eatery in Arlington’s Virginia Square. Video shared on the restaurant’s social media shows Biden walking slowly into the restaurant while interacting with diners, one of whom could be heard shouting, “I miss you!”
This comes months after Biden underwent medical treatment for health issues. In September, he was photographed with a visible head wound outside a church in Rehoboth Beach over Labor Day Weekend. According to NBC News, Biden had recently undergone Mohs surgery, a procedure commonly used to remove skin cancer. His office confirmed he was recovering well.
Earlier this year, it was reported that the 82-year-old president had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer. His office stated that cancer cells had spread to his bones and that he had recently completed his first round of radiation therapy. The diagnosis described a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), but officials noted the cancer appears hormone-sensitive, allowing for effective management.
Biden’s appearances in public have prompted attention and concern, as he continues to undergo treatment and recovery while fulfilling his duties as president.
