Twisted T-shirts pay tribute to Minneapolis church killer Robin Westman: ‘Protect Trans Kids’
T-shirts featuring the face of Robin Westman—the individual responsible for a deadly shooting at the Church of the Annunciation in Minneapolis—have appeared for sale online, sparking widespread outrage. Priced at $22.99, the shirts also feature the phrase “Protect Trans Kids.”
Westman, who identified as transgender, killed two children and injured 18 others in a mass shooting during a church service on Wednesday. Westman later died by suicide.
An anonymous seller on the site wildfoxtee.com claimed in the product description that Westman was “an old friend” who “always fights for what’s right.” The description went on to say the seller was moved after reading about the shooting, reflecting on the struggles faced by trans youth.

“A story about this kid, just a kid, who was facing…well, just facing the world. And it hit me, really — hit — me, how much courage it takes to just be yourself,” the listing read. “It made me think about all the kids out there, the trans kids, and the battles they fight, just to be seen… Maybe there’s something small I could do. Something to show support.”
The listing has drawn strong condemnation on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), with users criticizing the glorification of a mass shooter. “Why does the left always support the criminals?” one user wrote.
Prior to the attack, Westman had written about feelings of gender dysphoria and identity struggles in a handwritten journal, excerpts of which were posted online. In a combination of English and Cyrillic script, Westman reportedly wrote, “I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brain-washed myself,” according to translations published by The Post.
Law enforcement and advocacy groups have not commented on the merchandise as of yet. The motives behind the shooting remain under investigation.
