AT&T has agreed to pay a total of $177 million to settle claims related to two significant data breaches that occurred in 2024, according to USA Today. Affected customers may be eligible to receive up to $7,500 in compensation.
Details of the Breaches:

March 2024 Breach: Personal data—including Social Security numbers and birthdates—of approximately 73 million current and former customers was exposed and later appeared on the dark web, reports CBS News. AT&T has allocated $149 million for this breach.

July 2024 Breach: Hackers accessed a cloud system containing call and text records from nearly all AT&T cellular users. The breach was disclosed in July. $28 million has been set aside for this incident.
