Pet Adoption POLL

Unfortunately, not all pet owners are as dedicated to their furry friends as we’d hope. It’s impossible to know what leads to an animal’s surrender, but it’s also impossible to ignore how difficult the transition to the shelter is for recently surrendered pets.

One pet adoption counselor from Atlanta is sharing the heartbreaking reality of how cats feel after being dropped off at the shelter.

Of course, the shelter staff and volunteers are doing their best to keep the cats entertained and happy during their stay, but nothing can top the love of a forever home.

No wonder these cats grieve in the shelter! Not only are they missing the owner, home, and life they used to have, but they’re also trying to navigate a completely new life. It breaks our hearts to think that some of these sweet kitties even stop eating and drinking, but that is the sad reality that happens after some cats are given up.
