Sept. 14, 2019: The Star Spangled Banner

On September 14, 1814 Francis Scott key penned the poem Defense Of Fort McHenry. Later, the poem was set to the tune of an old English drinking song, and it became known as The Star Spangled Banner, and our national anthem.

Some people in this country think we should change the national anthem officially to something else, because of Koepernick, the word “slave”, or just being a song about war, etc. Options include God Bless America, America The Beautiful, Born In The USA, or La Cucaracha. These songs are undoubtedly easier to sing than The Star Spangled Banner. But how would you feel about changing it to any other beautiful song about this country?
