Election Day is here, and Michiganders — along with the rest of the American people — should be reminded of the company Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed keeps.
Michigan has seen an increasing Lebanese population in recent years, with Lebanon sending Ibrahim Charara, a consul general, to Detroit.
The Washington Free Beacon reported that Charara, a former diplomat to Egypt, has been received by Lebanese communities around Dearborn and Dearborn Heights.
As an active member of the community, Charara attended the 29th annual banquet of the Arab American Political Action Committee in Dearborn. But the consul general has not made any effort to hide his terrorist sympathies, as The Washington Free Beacon uncovered several posts on his social media accounts praising a suicide bombing.
On Oct. 23, 2021, Charara posted to X — then called Twitter — that “the heroic resistance to the American military occupation of Beirut ended with a single strike that documents the defeat of neocolonialism on our land.”
This was in reference to a suicide bombing attack that killed 241 American service members in 1983.
The Associated Press noted that the bombing happened near Beirut International Airport in Lebanon, as another attack was carried out in the city, nearly simultaneously, against French soldiers, killing 58.
Hezbollah was believed to be behind the attack.
But Charara did not stop there.
His biography on X quotes Ghassan Kanafani, a leader for the terrorist group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.
Charara’s other posts include praising a drone attack on American soldiers at Al-Tanf base in Syria that occurred in 2021, for which Iran and Hezbollah were said to have been responsible.
In October, Charara attended the Arab-American Civil Rights League’s annual gala in Dearborn, where he stood for pictures alongside hosts Cenk Uygur and Ana Kasparian from The Young Turks.
Why do we tolerate this person in our country?
And just as importantly: Why would anyone vote for a man who has close ties to a terrorist sympathizer?
These people are laughing in our faces as they unapologetically, openly condemn us as evil infidels they wish to rule over.
Michigan is becoming an Islamic state and could elect the first Muslim member of the Senate today.
Islam does not wish to coexist with non-Islamic peoples. Muslims have no intention of respecting and upholding our constitutional values.
Their religion is highly political, hoping ultimately to establish a caliphate.
Appallingly, as they’re doing so, Americans are turning a blind eye, feeling a sense of moral superiority as champions of diversity and tolerance.
In the case of Charara, that means quite literally tolerating someone who is glad Americans are dead. This is who El-Sayed keeps close.
