Deputies arrested two Columbia residents Wednesday after allegedly discovering fentanyl and more than 100 grams of methamphetamine while executing a search warrant.

Boone County deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2014 Ford Focus at 1:28 p.m. on Oct. 7 at Brown School and Creasy Springs Road for a stop sign violation.

The driver was identified as Ralawndo K. Akers, and the passenger was Paige E. Ainsworth.

According to court documents, deputies arrested both due to an ongoing drug investigation. Deputies also had a search warrant for their residence.

Court documents state that Ainsworth attempted to discard 1.7 grams of fentanyl inside the back of the patrol vehicle.
