A driver in Virginia got quite a surprise after starting his car and seeing every warning light flash on the dashboard. Fearing a serious mechanical problem, he opened the hood only to discover the real cause: a nest of baby squirrels tucked inside the engine compartment.

With no sign of the mother, the Fairfax County resident contacted local animal services for assistance. A wildlife officer arrived and used a creative approach to solve the problem. The babies were carefully placed in a basket on the ground, and recordings of baby squirrel calls were played from a phone.

After a short wait, the mother squirrel appeared. One by one, she picked up her young and moved them to a safer location, resolving the situation without harm to the animals or the vehicle.
