A man accused of targeting women along a popular Los Angeles jogging route is reportedly still at large after a series of nighttime assaults near the Silver Lake Reservoir.
Several women say they were attacked while running or walking after dark around the reservoir, describing encounters with a man who allegedly used the light from his phone to disorient them before approaching. In response, warning signs have appeared around the area alerting others about a man believed to be around six feet tall and roughly 250 pounds who has been harassing women near the Silver Lake Meadow.
One of the signs posted along the trail warns women to stay alert, claiming a man wearing gym clothes and an Apple Watch has been grabbing and groping women and may have been filming them before fleeing the scene.
Sabrina Sullivan, who says she was assaulted on April 13, described being grabbed between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. on a poorly lit portion of the path. She said she later posted multiple warning notices around the trail after learning that another woman had reported a similar encounter.
According to Sullivan, the suspect appeared to wait for darker sections of the route before making a move. She urged women not to walk the area alone at night and encouraged others to spread the warning.
Another woman, Rachel, who posts on TikTok under the name @crayonhead, also described being attacked after seeing the warning signs. She said the notices prompted her to keep her hand on her pepper spray as she walked the trail.
Rachel explained that the uphill section of the path is especially dark due to a lack of lighting. While preparing her pepper spray, she said she suddenly felt someone grab her from behind. She reported being pushed to the ground and groped before the attacker ran away.
Because of the darkness, she said she could not clearly see the suspect but feared the situation could escalate further as she fought back by kicking and screaming for help.
After the incident, Rachel said a couple who passed by declined to assist her even after she told them what had happened. Shortly afterward, another woman stopped, helped calm her down, and called her a ride home.
Descriptions of the suspect differ slightly between the women. Sullivan described the man as about six feet tall and around 250 pounds, while Rachel said she could not see clearly but believed he may have been between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall and possibly Asian.
Authorities with the Los Angeles Police Department said they have not yet received any formal reports related to the alleged incidents. Rachel stated in her video that she plans to file a report.
The California Post has also contacted the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council for comment regarding the situation.
