A new claim is adding another layer of complexity to Cher’s family situation. According to Kayti Edwards, a former model and the granddaughter of Julie Andrews, she shares a daughter with Cher’s son, Elijah Blue Allman. Edwards says the child, named Ever, was born in 2010.
In an interview with the US Sun, Edwards said Cher did not believe she was a grandmother until many years later. She claims the singer first heard about the child in 2021 during a time when Allman was dealing with a drug overdose. Edwards says the information was dismissed at the time as something that did not seem credible.
Edwards alleges that after another overdose involving Allman in 2023, Cher contacted her again to discuss the situation. According to Edwards, that conversation led to Cher confirming the child’s existence. She says Cher later invited both her and Ever to her home in Malibu, where the singer attempted to spend time with and get to know the teenager.
Allman, now 49, has been aware of the child for years, Edwards claims, but did not want to take on the responsibilities of being a parent. She says Ever has instead been raised by her husband.
Cher has not made any public statement about the claims. The report comes as she is once again asking a court to grant her conservatorship over Allman. Court filings obtained by Page Six state that Cher believes her son’s substance abuse has reached its most severe point and that he is unable to properly handle his financial affairs.
