More than a dozen governments have issued urgent advisories telling their citizens to leave Iran as regional tensions escalate and security concerns mount. At the same time, reports emerged of a large explosion near Tehran, adding to fears of possible military escalation.
According to posts from Mario Nawfal on X, at least 15 countries have urged nationals to depart Iran immediately or avoid travel altogether.

Separately, local reports described a powerful explosion outside Tehran. Witnesses said a loud blast was followed by visible smoke, and a second explosion was reportedly heard shortly afterward. Some residents speculated that air defense systems may have been targeted, noting that such installations are located near areas including Parchin, a military complex southeast of the capital. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the cause of the explosions.
In an interview with the Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom, retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Herman Shelanski discussed the potential for direct confrontation between the United States and Iran. Shelanski, a former aircraft carrier commander, said that in the event of a full-scale conflict, U.S. carrier strike groups would present a significant challenge to Iranian forces.
He described U.S. aircraft carriers as capable of launching precision strikes from international waters while remaining difficult to target with conventional defenses. According to Shelanski, even a single carrier strike group possesses substantial airpower compared to many national militaries.
