A 31-year-old Minnesota woman has been arrested for allegedly allowing her boyfriend to assault her 10-year-old daughter while wearing lightly padded boxing gloves.
Amber Lynn Raymond faces charges of child endangerment, child neglect, and malicious punishment of a child, according to court documents.
Authorities say the Maplewood Police Department received a report on February 1 about a video showing a man repeatedly striking a 10-year-old girl at a home on Dorland Drive, roughly 15 miles east of Minneapolis. The person who reported the footage identified the man as Raymond’s 25-year-old live-in boyfriend.
Police obtained a copy of the video, which allegedly showed the boyfriend wearing a mask and lightweight boxing gloves while striking the child. The probable cause affidavit details multiple instances of the girl being hit, during which the man reportedly yelled at her and referenced a prior incident involving her sister.
Following the alleged assault, Raymond’s boyfriend left the room, and the incident prompted law enforcement to take immediate action. Raymond was taken into custody and charged in connection with the case.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details about the condition of the child or the next steps in the legal process.
