A Mexican national has been arrested on charges related to the sexual assault of a child under the age of 10.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Jose Hilario Millan-Flores, 30, a citizen of Mexico, was taken into custody on February 2 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations officers in Los Angeles.
Authorities say Millan-Flores faces charges that include lewd acts with a child under 14, sodomy with a victim under 10, sexual penetration of a victim under 14, and obstructing a public officer.
A photo released by the agency shows Millan-Flores wearing a white T-shirt and smiling. Officials have not disclosed whether the alleged victim was male or female.
Millan-Flores remains in ICE custody pending removal proceedings, federal officials said.
