Florida man pointed gun at victims in road rage incident, deputies say

WALTON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) – A Bonifay man was arrested on Sunday following a road rage incident where he allegedly pointed a firearm.

According to the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, the victims were traveling north on 331 South near Sherwood Road at around 1 p.m. when Blackie Alvarez, 33, started speeding and honking at them.

The victims told deputies that Alvarez sped around their vehicle and came to a complete stop in front of them, pulled out a gun and pointed it at them.

Law enforcement said they found Alvarez with a black handgun and two metal knuckles. He refused to speak with deputies.

Alvarez was charged with two felony counts of false imprisonment, two felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, one felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, two counts of unlawful carry of a concealed weapon, and driving without a license.

Alvarez also had a warrant out of Bay County for failure to pay child support. He is currently at the Walton County Jail with a $235,000 bond.
