Hillary Clinton is set to publicly testify before the House Oversight Committee this month as part of its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, following a standoff with Committee Chairman James Comer.
Bill and Hillary Clinton agreed to testify after Comer moved forward with proceedings to hold them in criminal contempt of Congress for initially failing to comply with subpoenas.
“Republicans and Democrats on the Oversight Committee have been clear: no one is above the law—and that includes the Clintons,” Comer said. “After delaying and defying duly issued subpoenas for six months, the Committee acted swiftly to initiate contempt of Congress proceedings in response to their non-compliance.”
For six months, we engaged Republicans on the Oversight Committee in good faith. We told them what we know, under oath.
They ignored all of it. They moved the goalposts and turned accountability into an exercise in distraction.

So let’s stop the games.
If you want this fight, @RepJamesComer, let’s have it—in public.
You love to talk about transparency. There’s nothing more transparent than a public hearing, cameras on.
We will be there.

Comer added, “Once it became clear that we would hold them in contempt, the Clintons agreed to appear for transcribed, filmed depositions this month.”
The hearings are scheduled for February 26 and 27.
Hillary Clinton criticized the Oversight Committee’s handling of the investigation. “For six months, we engaged Republicans on the Oversight Committee in good faith. We told them what we know, under oath,” she said Thursday. “They ignored all of it. They moved the goalposts and turned accountability into an exercise in distraction. If you want this fight, let’s have it,” she added, directly challenging Comer.

Comer responded, saying, “Look, the Clintons keep moving the goalposts. In her tweet against me, she was completely dishonest in what she said!” He made the remarks on The Benny Johnson Show.
