A disturbing video has gone viral showing a transgender individual allegedly masturbating in a stall inside the women’s bathroom at a Planet Fitness in Concord, California, just outside San Francisco.
Grace Hutson, a gym patron, said she encountered the incident last May while using the female restroom, but the footage only gained widespread attention over the weekend. In the clip, posted originally on TikTok, the shadow of a person appears to be performing a sexual act.
“Whether you’re transgender or not, you should not be doing that in the women’s bathroom,” Hutson said in a TikTok video. “Okay, that’s definitely some weirdo stuff.” She said she alerted staff at the front desk, but they were unsure how to respond. Her boyfriend eventually confronted the individual.
Reflecting on the experience, Hutson said she regrets not taking further action at the time. “I was uncomfortable and just wanted to get out, but looking back, I should have done more, like called the cops,” she said.
Planet Fitness did not respond immediately to requests for comment.
The video comes months after Grammy-nominated singer Tish Hyman was removed from a Los Angeles Gold’s Gym for confronting a transgender woman who allegedly exposed himself in the women’s locker room. Hyman, who has advocated for women-only spaces, shared the Planet Fitness video on social media, writing:
“Women and girls deserve truth, safety, and protection — not confusion or lies dressed up as compassion. Sex is real. Boundaries matter. Reality matters. Enough pretending otherwise. This isn’t hate — this is care, this is love, this is standing up.”
Hyman’s previous confrontation involved Alexis Black, formerly Grant Freeman, who pleaded guilty in 2022 to violently assaulting his wife in Ohio. Hyman accused Black of exposing himself and harassing her in the women’s locker room, claims Black has denied.
