For more than ten years, fans visiting Denver’s Coors Field could often spot a familiar black-and-white presence that wasn’t listed on the Rockies’ lineup card. Now, the stray cat known as Socks has disappeared, according to reports from the Denver Post.

Volunteers who care for the stadium’s stray cats say Socks hasn’t been seen in roughly four weeks. The group, which regularly leaves food for her, says the long absence is unusual and has prompted concern. They are asking members of the public to report any sightings that might help determine where she’s gone.

“It’s not like Socks to vanish for this long,” the caretakers wrote on social media. “Any small detail could help us understand where she’s been. We’re hoping she’s just found a new hiding place, and your observations could really help.”

Socks is one of several stray cats that live in and around the ballpark area, according to 9News Denver. Another well-known Coors Field cat, Smokey, left the area last year due to age-related health problems. Volunteers say Smokey was later adopted by a Denver resident and is now living comfortably indoors with a family.
