Baltimore police are alerting the community to a recent wave of robberies targeting high-end jackets and Citizen watches.

Authorities say the thefts are primarily aimed at young people, with brands like North Face, Canada Goose, and Moose Knuckles being the most commonly stolen.

“There are so many jacket options, and they chose North Face. Like, why would someone take my bubble coat off my back? That’s crazy,” said Zion Elee, who recently purchased a top-of-the-line jacket.

Police report that these robberies often occur while victims are commuting to and from school or moving through public spaces. Many Baltimore City students rely on public transportation for their daily commute.

“Maybe if you have a $400 coat, you should consider a cheaper option if you’re getting on the bus,” suggested Kamaya Barnes, another North Face wearer.

In several incidents, suspects have reportedly used weapons to intimidate victims.

Police Safety Tips:

Mia Crank, a mother and grandmother, expressed frustration over the trend. “That annoys me because kids should be able to wear what they want. Their parents work hard, so they should be able to wear what they want,” she said.

Crank, who wore her North Face jacket at the Inner Harbor’s Christmas Village on Sunday, admitted she considered leaving it behind because of safety warnings but felt confident enough to wear it.

Her grandchildren, however, take a different approach. “They don’t wear theirs to school because I can’t be everywhere at once,” she explained.

Investigators emphasize that these robberies are not isolated incidents and are not linked to a single group.
