Raymond Hager has been driving city buses in Wichita Falls, Texas, for three decades — a remarkable run made even more impressive by the fact that he didn’t begin the job until he was 65. Now 95, Hager has earned recognition from Guinness World Records as the oldest bus driver on the planet.
His hometown celebrated the milestone as well, officially declaring November 18 “Raymond Hager Day,” according to CW39.
Hager once thought he might retire at 95, but he says he plans to stay behind the wheel as long as he’s able, UPI reports. “I’m the oldest bus driver in the world,” he said proudly. “For a little country boy to accomplish something like that — it means a lot.”
