WARRNTON, Va. — Nine masked thieves provided an unintentional comedy show during a robbery in Virginia, with surveillance footage showing all of them squeezing into a single small sedan — two even struggling to exit through the trunk — before hitting a local commercial building.
The bizarre scene unfolded on Oct. 15 in Warrenton, according to the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office. Video from the parking lot shows the group of suspects attempting to exit a tiny Hyundai Sonata before proceeding with the alleged robbery. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects.
Details about what the alleged thieves took — or why nine people felt the need to fit into one car — remain unclear. Sheriff’s deputies also haven’t explained how, if at all, the group managed to stow any of the stolen items.
