TOLEDO, Ohio — A Toledo father acted heroically last week when a man pretending to be a police officer tried to harass his children.
According to WTVG, 33-year-old Parker Jackson attempted to break into Steven Aranda’s home on Saturday, claiming he needed to “check” on Aranda’s children.
Aranda, realizing it was a ruse, confronted Jackson and physically subdued him until law enforcement arrived.

“My little daughter said, ‘What are you doing? You don’t belong here,’ and he responded that he was a Toledo cop,” Aranda told WTVG. “I grabbed him, slammed him on the concrete, and pinned him down until the cops got here.”
Aranda said the ordeal has left his children shaken. “They haven’t been playing outside for the past few days because you can’t trust anybody anymore,” he said. He urged other parents to stay vigilant about their children’s surroundings.
Jackson was arrested and charged with aggravated trespassing, inducing panic, and impersonating a police officer. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. A judge set his bond at $1,500 and ordered him to stay away from the Aranda family.
