Alex Jones now will lose everything for his remarks on the Sandy Hook mass killing.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Alex Jones’ appeal of the $1.4 billion judgment issued against him over statements he made about the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting.

The Connecticut ruling, delivered in 2022, ordered Jones to pay families of Sandy Hook victims a combined $1.4 billion for what the court deemed defamatory remarks. Jones, however, has long maintained that such a penalty represents a devastating blow to free speech in America. Many have questioned how expressing one’s opinion—however controversial—can warrant financial punishment of that magnitude.

In April of last year, Infowars founder and host Alex Jones joined Steve Bannon on The War Room, a day after undercover footage emerged allegedly showing a CIA-FBI operative describing how federal agencies used their power to target and financially cripple Jones and Infowars.

During that interview, Jones said that President Trump must “fire their ass” and clean out the deep state when he returns to office in 2025.

Following the Supreme Court’s decision, families involved in the Sandy Hook case have renewed their push for a judge to liquidate Jones’ media assets, including Infowars. Jones had previously asked the court for time to reorganize his business, while the families sought immediate collection of the $1.5 billion they were awarded.

With this latest legal blow, Alex Jones now faces the potential loss of his entire media enterprise. Critics say the case underscores a dangerous erosion of First Amendment protections in the United States—where expressing dissenting views may now carry a billion-dollar price tag.
