US Treasurer Brandon Beach has confirmed the authenticity of a planned silver dollar commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, which prominently features President Trump on both sides.
“No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS are real,” Beach tweeted Friday afternoon. “Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over.”
One side of the coin mock-up shows Trump’s face above the words “In God We Trust” and the dates 1776–2026. The reverse depicts Trump’s iconic fist-pump following last year’s assassination attempt, accompanied by the words “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT.”
Featuring a living president on US currency is highly unusual, and it remains unclear how many of these coins will ultimately be produced.
