Podcaster and political commentator Candace Owens has published new footage raising questions about the investigation into the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
Owens, a longtime friend of Kirk, shared a video on her podcast showing a witness describing how alleged shooter Tyler Robinson, 22, was seen with a woman shortly before the attack at Utah Valley University. Robinson has been charged with capital murder.
The video was originally filmed by Shaner Broderick, a relative of Utah politician Phil Lyman, who documented Robinson’s supposed route to the campus. Broderick later deleted the footage from Instagram, but Owens’ team had already saved copies.
In the recording, a witness is heard suggesting that Robinson was with a woman prior to the shooting, raising the possibility of an accomplice. “I wondered if the girl had given him stuff. Like, if there is an accomplice,” the woman says. She also expressed doubts about the FBI’s timeline of events, suggesting the official version of events may not add up.
Law enforcement has not publicly acknowledged reports of another person being with Robinson. Owens has also speculated that the alleged woman could have been a transgender individual, given Robinson’s relationship with Lance Twiggs, a 22-year-old biological male who identified as transgender and was living with him. Twiggs has reportedly not returned home since being questioned by police, fueling speculation that he may be cooperating with authorities under protection.

Robinson’s text messages to Twiggs — which some critics say read as scripted or coached — have added to suspicions of a broader conspiracy. Owens has also highlighted online activity from several transgender-linked social media accounts that appeared to reference the attack beforehand, though no arrests have been made beyond Robinson.
Further controversy has arisen around a man named Robby Hild, who appeared alongside Broderick during the walkthrough. Owens has questioned his identity due to his minimal online footprint, but Hild has not responded publicly. Lyman has dismissed Owens’ suggestions.

FBI Director Kash Patel released a statement confirming the agency is exploring “a massive range of theories” surrounding Kirk’s assassination. Patel listed areas under review, including the location of the shooter, potential accomplices, the content of Robinson’s alleged confession messages, Discord communications, the bullet trajectory, weapon transport, and visitors to Robinson’s residence before the September 10, 2025, attack.
“The full weight of America’s law enforcement agencies are actively following the evidence that has emerged, but our efforts extend beyond initial findings,” Patel said in a post on X. “We are examining every facet of this assassination.”
