President Trump has approved a new plan to provide Ukraine with U.S. intelligence to aid in missile strikes on Russian energy infrastructure, according to a report.

The agreement allows the Pentagon and American intelligence agencies to help Kyiv identify and target oil refineries, pipelines, and other assets that fuel Russia’s war machine, the Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

Officials said the Trump administration has also urged NATO allies in Europe to share similar intelligence with Ukraine. While Washington has previously assisted Kyiv with strikes through drone and missile support, this new step marks the first time the U.S. will directly help with long-range strikes inside Russian territory.

The administration is also weighing whether to provide Ukraine with longer-range missiles, including Tomahawk and Barracuda cruise missiles, which are capable of striking targets more than 500 miles away. A final decision on such weapon sales has not yet been made, officials cautioned.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky personally asked President Trump last week for Tomahawk missiles during a private meeting, sources told The New York Post. Reports indicate the president was open to the idea. Tomahawks can strike targets up to 1,500 miles away, far beyond the range of the ATACMS missiles Ukraine currently has, which max out at 190 miles.

Earlier this year, the Trump administration approved the sale of more than 3,000 Extended Range Attack Munitions, capable of hitting targets up to 280 miles away.

These moves come as Trump signals growing support for Ukraine’s military campaign in the face of stalled peace talks. Last week, he described Russia as a “paper tiger,” citing U.S. intelligence suggesting the Kremlin is sliding toward both economic collapse and military defeat.

For the first time, the president also voiced confidence that Ukraine could “win all of Ukraine back in its original form.”

The White House has not yet commented on the new intelligence-sharing plan.
