A RealLindelTV reporter caught up with Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) on the steps of the Capitol, pressing her on whether Democrats are willing to shut down the government in order to secure healthcare benefits for illegal immigrants.
At first, Waters engaged with the question, but the exchange quickly grew heated. Once she realized where the questioning was headed, she pushed back strongly, arguing that Democrats are focused on making healthcare accessible to everyone as a way to save lives.
🚨 WOW! Rep. Maxine Waters *LOSES IT* after realizing she was TRICKED into admitting Democrats are shutting down the government due to no healthcare for illegals.
Q: Are Dems demanding healthcare for illegal aliens?
WATERS: Dems are demanding healthcare for EVERYBODY…What… pic.twitter.com/mhmJgnC7d4

She also accused the reporter of twisting the issue and attempting to stir division.
Townhall summarized the encounter, pointing out that Democrats appear determined to push for taxpayer-funded healthcare for illegal immigrants as part of the current spending battle.
“Democrats are demanding healthcare for everybody,” Waters insisted. “We want to save lives. We want to make sure healthcare is available to those who would die.”
This is the whole ballgame on the government shutdown. Democrat Maxine Waters just admitted they want to fund healthcare for illegals which Dems are never supposed to actually admit on camera. Any shutdown will be rightfully hung on the Democrats now. pic.twitter.com/Lzp7noVwDO

When the reporter pressed her on whether she was comfortable with a government shutdown over the issue, Waters became visibly frustrated. “You keep—that’s what you’re pushing on…you’re standing here and you’re trying to make me say that somehow we’re going to put non-citizens over Americans. Quit it. Stop it. This is the kind of journalism we don’t need.”
The clash highlights the growing tension in Washington as Democrats hold their ground, while President Trump and Republicans push back on what they describe as misplaced priorities.
