LOS ANGELES — A man wanted in connection with an assault case turned a busy freeway into a real-life video game when he sprinted through speeding traffic in a desperate attempt to evade police — only to be tracked down and arrested thanks to drone surveillance.

The incident unfolded on September 11 along the 91 Freeway, according to footage released Thursday by the City of Corona Police Department. Video shows the suspect darting between lanes of fast-moving vehicles — at one point squeezing between two massive 18-wheelers — before making it across multiple lanes and escaping into a nearby neighborhood.

The suspect was eventually apprehended by the City of Corona Police Department, who trolled him on Facebook. ABC 7

Police, however, kept eyes on him from above. “You can dodge a ball. But you can’t dodge a drone,” the department joked in a Facebook post, even adding a “Dodgeball” movie clip and a retro arcade soundtrack to the footage.

The drone followed the man as he ran through alleys and backyards until officers caught up with him, used a Taser to subdue him, and placed him under arrest.

Authorities have not yet released his identity or confirmed the charges he may face.
