A cruise passenger found herself in a terrifying situation after getting stuck inside a waterslide more than 100 feet above the ocean — a moment that quickly went viral on TikTok.
The 13-second clip, set to the popular “Jet2 Holiday” sound, shows the woman trapped in a clear tube slide suspended high above the sea. As waves crash below, she struggles to inch her way forward with arms fully extended, clearly unable to gain momentum. Bystanders can be heard gasping in shock, with one exclaiming, “Oh my God, she’s literally stuck!”
The video doesn’t specify which cruise line the incident took place on, but the ship in the footage closely resembles Norwegian Cruise Line’s Bliss, which was sailing a seven-day round-trip Alaskan cruise near Victoria, British Columbia, on September 19, according to People and CruiseMapper.

The Bliss features the “Ocean Loops” — a double-looped, see-through waterslide that extends 11 feet off the side of the ship and hovers 159 feet above the water. Riders stand on a trap door that drops open, launching them through the loops before ending in a splash pool. Norwegian Cruise Line lists ride requirements as a minimum height of 40 inches and a weight between 120 and 300 pounds.
It’s unclear whether the woman managed to free herself, but one TikTok commenter claimed the slide includes an emergency hatch that staff can use in situations like this.
The video has since racked up over 7 million views and nearly 250,000 likes, with many viewers expressing anxiety just watching the scene.
“Stuck in a waterslide over actual ocean water would send me into a psychosis,” one person wrote.
“TikTok has definitely taught me to NEVER get in a cruise water slide,” added another.
This isn’t the first time someone has reportedly been trapped in the Ocean Loops slide. In 2022, another viral video showed a female passenger getting stuck, though she was reportedly rescued quickly and even returned for a second go.
Cruise ship waterslides have made headlines more than once this year. Just last month, a glass panel shattered mid-ride aboard Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas, causing water to pour from the slide as panicked passengers yelled, “Stop the slide!” The cruise line later confirmed a male guest was injured and treated, though no further details were released.
