A large-scale public memorial service honoring the life of conservative commentator and activist Charlie Kirk is set to take place this Sunday at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Tens of thousands are expected to attend, with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance among the high-profile speakers slated to participate.
Kirk, 31, was fatally shot on September 10 while speaking at Utah Valley University. The incident occurred during a live event, part of the spirited debates that had become a hallmark of his public persona. Kirk was the co-founder of Turning Point USA, a conservative youth organization, and leaves behind a wife and two young children.
His death has reverberated across political lines, prompting tributes from allies and even opponents. President Trump, a longtime supporter of Kirk who often described him as a surrogate son, ordered American flags flown at half-staff following the assassination.
“Charlie’s vision was to empower the next generation to boldly defend faith, freedom, and family,” said Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet. “This event is more than a memorial — it’s a call to carry on his mission and ensure his remarkable legacy continues to shape America and the world.”
