Husband’s Loud Complaints Over Hair in Food Cause Embarrassment
Advertisements

DEAR ABBY:
How should one handle discovering a hair in their food—either at home or while dining at a friend’s house? I try to prevent this by gently tugging at my hair to remove loose strands and brushing off my clothes before I cook. Still, once or twice a month, my husband finds a hair in his food and complains—sometimes quite loudly.

Of course, I never do this on purpose! His reaction embarrasses me and leaves me feeling awful and defensive.

Should he mention it when it happens, or would it be more considerate to let it go? I know that if we were guests in someone else’s home, neither of us should say a word for fear of causing offense. — MORTIFIED IN TENNESSEE
