Following the reported assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, an Antifa-affiliated group based in Joliet, Illinois, has drawn criticism for social media activity perceived as celebratory and inflammatory. The group announced plans to visit a gun range, prompting concern among conservative commentators.
The Joliet Antifa group has previously expressed hostility toward right-wing groups, including the Patriot Front. On social media, the group amplified posts using the slogan, “The only good Nazi is a dead Nazi,” a phrase historically associated with militant anti-fascist movements. Critics argue that such rhetoric is broadly applied to include mainstream conservatives and Trump supporters.
The group, along with other local far-left activists, has been accused of celebrating Kirk’s death online. Conservative figures have labeled the Joliet group a “terrorist organization” due to previous threats made against conservative activists and government agencies such as ICE.
One frequent target has been Terry Newsome, a conservative parent and activist from the Chicago suburbs, known for opposing LGBTQ-inclusive education policies, drag events for children, and illegal immigration. Newsome has reported receiving threats from individuals linked to Antifa-affiliated accounts.

There is also a growing concern among conservative watchdogs about perceived coordination between Antifa members and some transgender activists, with the term “Trantifa” being used by critics to describe the alleged alliance. This perceived coalition has reportedly become more active in various cities across the United States.
Law enforcement agencies have not publicly confirmed any formal investigations into the Joliet group’s recent activities, though several incidents are being monitored due to escalating tensions between ideological groups.
