Musician Kid Rock appeared on Watters’ World Monday night to share his thoughts on the media’s handling of the recent assassination of political commentator Charlie Kirk. During the segment, he criticized mainstream outlets, calling them “public enemy number one” for what he described as biased and irresponsible reporting.

Kid Rock expressed frustration over the tone of coverage surrounding the incident. He argued that some in the media appeared more focused on blaming Kirk for his own death or defending individuals who celebrated the murder, rather than condemning the act itself. “The same media that pushed Cancel Culture for years is now suddenly concerned about free speech,” he noted.

After offering condolences to Kirk’s family, Kid Rock shifted focus to what he sees as a broader media-driven narrative: the persistent portrayal of former President Donald Trump and his supporters as extremists. He linked this messaging to the potential radicalization of certain individuals.

Jesse Watters also weighed in on the topic via Twitter/X, stating:

“Once people start echoing those lies, reading dumb articles, they say, ‘He’s a racist, he’s a Nazi.’ That builds and builds. You’ve got these nut-house kids who sit around watching occult movies on streaming services, instead of going outside and playing sports or doing something productive. Then they think, ‘I’ll do something good. I’ll go kill a Nazi. I’ll kill a racist.’”

The discussion concluded with speculation about what it might take for mainstream media to change course. Two possibilities were raised: widespread public disengagement from legacy outlets, or significant political losses for Democrats in future elections, such as the 2026 midterms or the 2028 presidential race.
