Whether or not you make it to the glorious grounds of Augusta National for the Masters Tournament, you can partake in its inspired, affordable food options. One fan favorite is the egg salad sandwich, which has kept its $1.50 price tag for more than twenty years. While the storied golf club will probably never share its recipe, the Co-Op in Charleston offers a dupe, appropriately named “The Masters,” that is sure to give you the egg salad experience you crave. The eatery and frosé purveyor shares its recipe below.

INGREDIENTS

  • THE CO-OP’S “THE MASTERS” SANDWICH (YIELD: 15 SANDWICHES)

    • 18 boiled and peeled eggs, chopped with a food processor

    • ¾ cup mayo

    • 1 tbsp. whole-grain mustard

    • ½ tbsp. salt

    • ⅛ cup pickle juice

  • PREPARATION

    • Mix all ingredients thoroughly in a bowl. Serve a heaping layer on toasted wheat bread with sprouts and a fresh tomato slice.
