Chelsea Clinton, the only child of former President Bill Clinton and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has a new children’s book out following a transgender Biden administration health official as part of her She Persisted book series.

In an upcoming installment of Clinton’s children’s book series about women titled, She Persisted: Rachel Levine by author Lisa Bunker, readers follow the life of the first openly transgender assistant secretary for health for the Department of Health and Human Services.

The book comes out on June 6 but is currently available for preorder from Penguin Random House.

Levine is a biological male who lived as Richard Levine with a wife and two children for decades before transitioning to “Rachel” in 2011 and divorcing in 2013.

“Moving from one gender to another, especially in your 50s, is a challenge,” Levine said in 2016. “But it was very rewarding.”

Levine was Pennsylvania’s physician general in 2015, becoming the secretary for Pennsylvania’s Department of Health in 2018.

The book description explains why Levine was chosen to be a part of the series. According to the publishing house’s website, they wanted to feature “women who spoke up against all odds.”

“As the first openly transgender government official to hold an office that requires Senate confirmation, the first openly transgender four-star officer in uniform service, and the first female four-star admiral in the commissioned corps, Rachel Levine faced many obstacles throughout her life,” the book description reads. “But she persisted through them all and showed kids of all genders that they can succeed in their dreams too.”

“In this chapter book biography by critically acclaimed author Lisa Bunker, readers learn about the amazing life of Rachel Levine–and how she persisted,” the publisher continues. “Complete with an introduction from Chelsea Clinton, black-and-white illustrations throughout, and a list of ways that readers can follow in Rachel Levine’s footsteps and make a difference!”

The publishing house also encourages teachers and schools to add the book “into their curriculum.”

“A perfect choice for kids who love learning and teachers who want to bring inspiring women into their curriculum.”

RACHEL LEVINE SOUGHT STUDIES FAVORING GENDER TRANSITIONS FOR MINORS, EMAIL SHOWS

Levine has been a longtime advocate for “gender-affirming care” and an outspoken opponent of restrictions on medical gender transitions for minors.

Levine said last July on MSNBC that the U.S. should “support, affirm and empower” children to get “gender affirmation treatment,” including puberty blockers and sex reassignment surgery in their state.

At the same time last summer, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) added side effects warnings to multiple puberty blocker drugs, such as gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists, stating that they found cases of a condition called pseudotumor cerebri, which is caused by elevated fluid pressure in the brain, leading to headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, nausea, tinnitus, and potential vision loss.

At a 2019 meeting of the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine, Levine admitted to being glad to have transitioned later in life.

“I have no regrets because if I had transitioned when I was young then I wouldn’t have my children. I can’t imagine a life without my children,” said Levine.

Critics have pointed out that Levine pushes for puberty blockers and surgery for teenagers as part of “gender-affirming” treatment but then admits to being happy to not have transitioned before having children.

“Levine transitioned in his mid-50s after a lengthy marriage that produced two children. Yet he’s aggressively pushing a ‘gender affirmation’ agenda that sterilizes emotionally vulnerable children and robs them of the family formation opportunity he had,” said Independent Women’s Forum’s Ginny Gentles. “Leave kids alone.”

In a video from the May 27 presentation before the Federation of State Medical Boards in New Orleans, Levine urged for social media platforms to censor “misinformation” to protect the “health equity of sexual and gender minorities.”

Recently, Megan Brock, a Pennsylvania parents’ rights activist, allegedly obtained 2018 emails between former Pennsylvania Acting Secretary of Health Levine and Rollyn Ornstein, a pediatrician at the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, discussing the profitability of sex reassignment surgery for teens.

“I am trying to give them some numbers to help them realize the eventual ROI (return on investment) for this necessary position … Even if the patients under 18 who go for surgery might be limited, the patients we start with will eventually be over 18 … so I still think it’s worthwhile,” Ornstein allegedly wrote to Levine.

“What is a Woman?” filmmaker Matt Walsh reacted to the new book about Levine.

“I can guarantee the Rachel Levine book will sell far less than my children’s book satirizing gender ideology,” Walsh said.

Chelsea Clinton wrote the introduction for the new book about Levine.
