Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared on “Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs. the World” Nov. 25 and offered some advice to contestants as they prepared to take on the show’s main challenge.
Trudeau made history with his appearance by becoming the first world leader to appear on the show, which was created by famous drag star RuPaul, according to CNN. “I’m glad to be the first I look forward to the time there’s a third or a fourth world leader in the work room,” Trudeau said in the video posted to YouTube.
The drag queens on the show gave Trudeau a little tease and cat-called him as he exited, saying, “Hate to see you leave, love to watch you walk away, baby.”
In his speech, he told the drag queens and those watching the show that he was proud to support the LGBTQ+ community, adding there is “a lot of work still to do.”
“It has been an incredible pleasure to be part of fighting the good fight on the right side that is about respecting people,” Trudeau said on the show. “Can we move beyond ‘tolerate’ and start embracing and loving and accepting and learning from and being challenged by. That’s how you build a resilient society, that’s what we’re trying to do in Canada and we got a lot of work still to do,” Trudeau said.

He then touted Canadians, saying they are among the most accepting citizens when it comes to diversity.
