Many pet owners across the country have experienced long waits to see a veterinarian.
That’s because of a nationwide shortage of veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
Scheduling issues began during the pandemic but have worsened as demand for pet health services has increased, WRTV reported.
According to James Lloyd, former dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Florida, demand is expected to grow 33% through 2029.
Lloyd also predicted a shortage of 15,000 vets by 2030.
