A scammer impersonating famous rapper Eminem has allegedly tried to rip off innocent citizens from Eminem’s hometown of Detroit by stealing their personal information.
Residents of the local area have been inundating local news representatives at the Help Me Hank team complaining about being ripped off, according to Click On Detroit. The scammers pretending to be from of Eminem’s organization are asking for toys to be donated to Toys for Tots. They have offered to take the personal and credit card information from those who don’t have toys to give but still want to help with this fake foundation’s efforts. That information is then being used to rip those people off, according to Click On Detroit.

The person or people impersonating Eminem are alleged to have successfully stolen the identities from many of his fans. The rapper really does have a charitable organization called the Marshall Mathers Foundation, but they are not involved in this fraud and are equally disturbed these unauthorized and fraudulent transactions, according to Click On Detroit.
The Marshall Mathers foundation and those close to Eminem are working hand-in-hand with the police and local authorities to take down the scammer and bring justice to those who have been taken advantage of.
This would not the first time an impersonator has used Eminem’s name to scam others. In the summer of 2022 someone pretending to be Eminem allegedly asked people outside of Michigan to schedule private VIP concerts with him, and convinced them to hand over their personal information, which was then used to scam them, according to Click On Detroit.
No arrests have been made at this time.
