McDonald’s is bringing back a popular food item for a “farewell tour,” according to the fast food chain’s website.

The fast food chain announced on its website Monday that McRib is back for the final time and will be gone Nov. 20.

The fan-favorite limited time menu item debuted in 1981 in Kansas City, Kansas, and its cult following has only grown since, according to The Hill.

The McRib has returned from hiatus many times before, but this time will be the “McRib’s Farewell Tour” before to the sandwich is permanently discontinued, according to the McDonald’s website.

This latest announcement is not the first time McDonald’s has promised to phase out the McRib forever. In 2005, McDonalds launched a McRib farewell tour and then repeated it for the next three years, according to People. After the extended goodbye, the sandwich briefly reappeared on menus in 2012 before vanishing again until Dec. 2020, People noted. Following that reappearance, the fast food giant resurrected the sandwich once again in Nov. 2021 to celebrate its 40th anniversary, according to People.

The post describes the McRib as “seasoned boneless pork dipped in a tangy BBQ sauce, topped with slivered onions and dill pickles, all served on a toasted homestyle bun.”
