Harris County law enforcement officers crowd commissioners court, boo Lina Hidalgo over budget battle

Law enforcement officers from the Harris County Constable’s Office jammed into the Harris County Commissioners Court meeting and booed Judge Lina Hidalgo after she ended Tuesday afternoon’s session early, the Houston Chronicle’s Jen Rice reported.
The drama stems from an ongoing dispute over the Democratically-controlled Commissioners Court’s proposed annual budget, which has sparked opposition and a string of no-shows from the body’s conservative members. Photos tweeted by Rice show that inside the meeting itself, uniformed officers from the Harris County Constable’s Office packed the court.
good morning from harris county commissioners court, there are constable officers *everywhere* lining the hallways and court room. this is likely a demonstration of force about their budget. pic.twitter.com/fLTtsBwUmF

After Hidalgo gaveled the court out of session early due to illness, officers were recorded booing the judge as she exited the room.
