  • Now, Judy’s story is being told in an upcoming MTV documentary, entitled The Fire That Took Her, which is set to premiere in theaters on October 21

    A new documentary is set to lift the lid on the terrifying story of a woman who died after she was lit on fire by her boyfriend – but was able to testify from her hospital bed before she passed away from the burns.

    Mother-of-two Judy Malinowski, then 31, from Ohio, was doused in gasoline before she was set ablaze by her crazed on-and-off-again partner, Michael Slager, in 2015 – which resulted in 90 per cent of her body being covered in third and fourth degree burns.

    Judy needed 60 surgeries, was in a coma for seven months, could hardly speak or breathe, and lost both of her ears, some of her fingers, and most her eyesight – but despite the horrific injuries, she miraculously fought for her life for 700 days, before she ultimately died as a result of the incident.
