Englewood man hired to clean up junk, dumps trash on the side of Port Charlotte road
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – An Englewood man has been arrested after he dumped a trailer full of trash onto a Port Charlotte road.
Charlotte County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Twining Avenue after a large amount of trash was found dumped on the roadway.
After going through the items, deputies discovered a shipping label with the name of a man who had passed away in October of 2021.
The address on the shipping label belonged to a property that was recently sold. During the investigation, it was revealed that the previous owner still had materials inside the home as the new tenants moved into the property.
The tenants then hired Alexander Molineux, 35, off a Facebook Classified ad to remove the items.
Molineux arrived at the property in a rented U-Haul and, for $180, took the extra junk with him. However, instead of properly disposing of the materials, he unloaded a majority of the trailer on the side of the road.
Deputies are also looking to connect Molineux to another illegal dumping incident found at Marlin Avenue after similar documents were found in those discarded materials.
