A Queens attorney laid down the law to a man who allegedly attacked him on the street outside his legal office, amid this year’s ongoing surge in Big Apple crime, The Post has learned.

James Galleshaw, 49, left his alleged assailant battered and bloody following the fight on Cross Bay Boulevard in Ozone Park, according to photos he posted Thursday on Facebook — one of which showed the failed thug with streams of crimson running down his face.

Others show blood splattered on the steps outside and a broken glass door with a potted plant through it.

The fight took place on Cross Bay Boulevard in Ozone Park.

“I am ok. Was attacked by a random off the street today. He made a bad f–king decision and attacked me,” Galleshaw wrote.

“I’m in mf’r. You picked the wrong guy. I’m no victim.”

Galleshaw’s friends posted more than 140 messages of support on Facebook, with many applauding the beating he gave the man.

“I recently heard you were nobody to mess with and like the good lawyer you are you provide the evidence. Glad you are okay, pal,” one wrote.

Another said, “That a–hole picked the wrong guy to mess with! Ding, ding, ding, Round 1 goes to Jay! Seriously, so happy you’re ok!”

Another pal wrote: “Glad you threw him a nice beating. We gotta get the eff out of NY,” another pal wrote.

Citywide, serious crimes have increased 36.1% this year through Sunday compared to the same period last year, with felony and misdemeanor assaults up 19.1% and 23%, respectively, according to NYPD CompStat figures.

In the 106th Precinct, where Galleshaw’s law office is located, major crimes are up 35.9% and felony and misdemeanor assaults have risen 11.5% and 21%, respectively.

Galleshaw was punched in the body and hurt during the incident, which took place around 3 p.m. Wednesday, an NYPD spokesperson said.

Police told The Post that Galleshaw knows his attacker and gave his name to cops, who are seeking to arrest him and charge him with misdemeanor assault.

The incident took place around 3 p.m. Wednesday, according to the NYPD.
According to police, Galleshaw knew his attacker.

The fight erupted following a verbal dispute between Galleshaw and the 24-year-old suspect, who’s also accused of shattering the glass door and injuring a 35-year-old assistant at the Sullivan & Galleshaw law firm, a law-enforcement source said.

Galleshaw, a former Brooklyn prosecutor, specializes in both personal injury and criminal defense, and the name and age of the suspect match those of a man who was busted July 12 for disorderly conduct inside a publicly run hospital in Manhattan, according to court records.

It wasn’t clear if that defendant is the suspect in Wednesday’s attack.

Galleshaw didn’t immediately return requests for comment.
