NHL great Patrick Marleau’s wife: Son ‘almost kidnapped’ at hotel

The wife of San Jose Sharks legend Patrick Marleau took to Twitter to share that the couple’s 12-year-old son, Brody, was “almost kidnapped” on Wednesday during a family trip.

“Brody had gone down to the hotel pool to grab his sunglasses he had forgot,” Christina Marleau wrote in a series of tweets, and claimed that was the moment a couple began following him.

“A woman started to follow him around, asking [him] questions, getting closer and closer. She was soon reaching out for him, trying to get him to go with her and her partner.”

“When Brody called, we rushed down to him,” Marleau recalled. “When I saw the woman who tried to grab him at the bar, I let her know that cops had been called, hotel security was watching her and she needs to leave. Meanwhile, Mrs Headlam, unbeknownst to me, was already grabbing security as well.”

Marleau did not name the specific hotel or location the family was staying at. Brody is the second of the couple’s four children.

In April of last season, Marleau passed hockey Hall of Famer Gordie Howe for the most NHL games played all-time in his 1,768th contest when the Sharks played the Golden Knights.

Marleau, 42, is currently an unrestricted free agent. He has scored 566 goals and recorded 630 assists. .
