Chris Noth’s supermodel ex-girlfriend Beverly Johnson accused him of ‘beating her’, ‘making death threats’ against her, and ‘threatening to disfigure her’ in 1995 court documents, a resurfaced newspaper article has revealed.
The article – which was originally published in The National Enquirer – was posted on Instagram account Diet Prada after the Sex and the City star, now 67, was accused of rape and sexual assault by two women in a bombshell report in The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the article, Johnson, now 69, alleged that Noth – whom she dated between 1990 and 1995 – ‘beat her’ during their relationship, and that he also made death threats against her while phoning her ‘up to 25 times a day’, threatened to disfigure her, and even ‘vowed to kill her dog’.
The publication reported at the time that ‘Beverly told a pal’: ‘I’ve never been so frightened in my life. I just can’t believe that someone who had once been so tender and sweet could turn into this raging wild man.’
Johnson also reportedly tried to get a restraining order against Noth, who was starring in the role of Detective Mike Logan on popular crime show Law & Order at the time – and strongly denied the accusations made against him by the model.
No criminal charges were ever filed against Noth – who has vehemently denied the new accusations that he raped two women in 2004 and 2015, respectively. The Sex and the City star did however admit to having ‘consensual encounters’ with both women in a statement given to THR.
Johnson’s allegations were brought back to light just hours after THR published an article in which two women – using the pseudonyms Zoe, now 40, and Lily, now 31 – claimed that Noth had raped and sexually assaulted them in 2004 and 2015, respectively.
The article quotes several ‘insiders’ who alleged that Noth ‘exhibited a vicious streak’ during his relationship with Johnson, with one source telling the publication: ‘Christopher was jealous if Beverly spoke to another man.
‘He would fly into rages and accuse her of flirting. Eventually, the verbal assaults turned to physical abuse.’
hat same source pointed to one alleged incident in 1991, when they claim Noth ‘hit [Johnson] in the face with his fist over and over’ after they returned ‘from a party in New York’.
‘In 1991, on the way back from a party in New York, Christopher was seething,’ the source claimed. ‘As soon as they arrived home, Christopher started in with the accusations and snapped.
‘He hit Beverly in the face with his fist over and over. Beverly fell to the floor crying, trying to crawl away.’
The National Enquirer source claimed that Noth then ‘came to his senses, apologized and assured her he’d never touch [Johnson] in anger again’.
However the publication reported that the ‘beatings continued’, according to ‘friends of the model’, who allegedly broke up with the actor in February 1993 as a result of his behavior – although the two continued to publicly date until 1995.
