The Rodeo

The Rodeo

I am going to the Rodeo today. It’s a big deal in our county.

I wrote this for a really cool congressional member who reminds me of a man who went to a rodeo. Enjoy the poem. See ya soon.

The rodeo for their Godly soul…

Was nothing but their worldly lows…

Bought and stolen for all to know…

Seven seconds for the ride of betide…

Reckons to win by their side…

Bucking broncos and horses for the show…

The rodeo for their Godly soul…

Was nothing but their worldly lows…

It’s not the first or the last in the cold…

Bought and stolen for all to know…

One glove to hold-one arm to fold…

Seven seconds for the ride of betide…

The crowd cheering happily so loud and so sadly proud…

Reckons to win by their side…

Lights dim taken and shaken for the win…

Bucking broncos and horses for the show…

Heat is on to impress all the rest…

It’s not the first or the last in the cold…

All paid their dues for the cowboys’ ruse…

One glove to hold-one arm to fold…

Some guilty pleas for those that leave…

The crowd cheering happily so loud and so sadly proud…

Live once to make it count on their 7 second mounts…

In the end, we’ll all be buried in a hole…

The rodeo for their Godly soul…

Was nothing but their worldly lows…
